"Once more unto the breach, dear friends..."

Hello, folks. It’s been awhile. My last Instagram post was on July 25, 2020. Like many of us at the time, I found myself navigating waves of fear and uncertainty in the throes of lockdown. 

After that July post, I more or less forgot about Instagram. And it wasn’t until August that I realized I hadn’t posted anything for weeks. Honestly, I couldn’t find a compelling reason to go back to posting. So I didn’t.

Though I’d found success online, I was also burned out on seeking validation in the digital realm. The constant pressure of it drove me away from my creative values, until I forgot why I began posting in the first place. And since the summer of 2020, I’ve been content to live life offline, still making art for a living, while keeping to myself & my loved ones.

Recently, I’ve begun to miss the sense of community found in sharing with a wider audience. Though I’m not eager to repeat the same patterns that wore me out years ago. If I’m going to put myself back out here, I’d like to do it in a healthier, more purposeful way. Hence this newsletter.

Some of you may know EGO REHAB as the self-published comic where I explored my fears around creativity, procrastination and failure. Now I’d like to continue that sort of exploration here. I’ll be using this space to share art, my process and musings on the ups & downs of a creative life. And my aim is to share all of this in a manner that inspires and entertains you along the way.

So thank you for being here. I appreciate you, whether you’re a longtime fan of my work or just discovering me and what I do.
